This is a complete reference guide to every major feature and tool available in the Black Arrow platform as used with Rev One Futures accounts. All trading on Rev One Futures occurs in a simulated environment. The tools and features described in this guide operate within that simulated environment. Payouts are based on simulated performance.

Getting Started

First Login

When you first open Black Arrow after purchasing a Rev One Futures account:

Launch the platform -- Open the Black Arrow desktop application, navigate to the web version in your browser, or open the mobile app
Enter your credentials -- Use the username and password provided in your Rev One Futures dashboard (these are different from your dashboard login)
Select your server -- If prompted, select the appropriate server (this is typically pre-configured for Rev One Futures accounts)
Sign the CME Market Data Agreement -- This agreement is required by the CME Group before real-time market data can be displayed. It will appear automatically on your first login. You must complete it before charts and price data become active
Wait for data to load -- Once signed, the platform will begin streaming real-time market data. This may take a few moments on first connection

CME Market Data Agreement

The CME Market Data Agreement is a standard legal agreement required by the CME Group (the exchange) for anyone accessing real-time futures market data. Key points:

It appears automatically during your first login
You must read and accept the agreement before market data is enabled
If you accidentally decline or close the agreement, log out and log back in -- it will appear again
The agreement covers the terms under which you receive real-time price data for CME Group exchanges (CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX)
This is a one-time requirement per account

Workspace Overview

After login, the Black Arrow workspace is organized into several key areas:

Top Navigation Bar -- Account selector, main menus, settings, and notifications
Left Toolbar -- Quick-access buttons for tools, chart types, indicators, and drawing tools
Central Charting Workspace -- Your primary trading area where charts are displayed
Order Panel -- Located alongside or within the charting area for placing and managing orders
Bottom Trade Terminal -- Panels for positions, orders, trade history, account information, and messages
SuperDOM -- Available as a standalone window or docked panel for depth-of-market trading

You can customize the layout by dragging and resizing panels, adding or removing windows, and saving your configurations as workspace templates.

Top Navigation Bar

The top navigation bar provides access to the most important platform-wide controls.

Account Selector

Located in the upper area of the platform
Displays your currently active account (account number and balance)
Click the dropdown to switch between multiple Rev One Futures accounts if you have more than one
Always verify you are on the correct account before placing any trades

Main Menu

The main menu provides access to:

File -- Workspace management (new, open, save, save as)
View -- Toggle visibility of panels, toolbars, and windows
Insert -- Add new charts, DOM windows, watchlists, and other components to your workspace
Trading -- Access order settings, OCO configuration, Trailing Stop settings, Auto Breakeven settings, and trade management tools

Window -- Manage open windows, tile, cascade, or arrange

Access platform settings from the top navigation bar or the main menu:

Left Toolbar

Charting Workspace

The charting workspace is the central area of Black Arrow where you analyze price action, apply technical studies, and execute trades.

Chart Types

Black Arrow supports a wide variety of chart types:

Chart Type	Description
Candlestick	Standard OHLC candlestick chart. The most commonly used chart type for active trading. Shows open, high, low, and close for each period.
Bar (OHLC)	Traditional bar chart showing open, high, low, and close as vertical bars with tick marks.
Line	Connects closing prices with a continuous line. Useful for identifying overall trend direction.
Area	Similar to a line chart but fills the area below the line. Useful for visual clarity.
Heikin Ashi	Modified candlestick chart that uses averaged values to smooth price action and reduce noise. Helpful for identifying trends.
Renko	Brick-based chart that only plots movement of a specified size, filtering out time and minor price fluctuations. Popular for trend-following strategies.
Range	Plots bars based on a specified price range rather than time intervals. Each bar represents a defined range of price movement.

To change the chart type:

Click the chart type icon in the left toolbar or right-click on the chart

Setting Up a Multi-Chart Layout:

Go to Insert > New Chart to add additional charts
Drag chart windows to dock them side-by-side, above/below, or in tabs
Resize each chart by dragging the borders between panels
Each chart can display a different instrument, timeframe, or chart type independently

Saving Templates

You can save your entire chart configuration (chart type, timeframe, indicators, drawing tools, colors, and layout) as a template:

Configure your chart exactly as you want it
Right-click on the chart and select Save as Template (or go to File > Save Workspace)
Give your template a descriptive name
To apply a saved template, right-click the chart and select Load Template, or open a saved workspace from the File menu

Templates save time when setting up new charts or when you want consistent analysis across multiple instruments.

Multi-Chart View Tips

Link charts by instrument so that changing the symbol on one chart updates all linked charts
Use different timeframes on linked charts (e.g., 1-hour on the left, 5-minute on the right) for multi-timeframe analysis
Color-code chart backgrounds to quickly identify different instruments or timeframes
Use tabbed chart groups to maximize screen space while keeping multiple charts accessible

Order Panel

The order panel is where you configure and submit orders. It can appear as a standalone panel, as part of the ChartTrading overlay, or within the SuperDOM.

Market Orders

A market order executes immediately at the best available price.

How to place a Market Order:

Select the instrument in the order panel (or ensure the correct instrument is active)
Set the quantity (number of contracts)
Click Buy Market or Sell Market
The order fills immediately at the current market price

When to use: When you need immediate execution and are willing to accept the current bid/ask spread.

Limit Orders

A limit order specifies the exact price at which you want your order to execute. The order only fills at the specified price or better.

How to place a Limit Order:

Select the instrument
Choose Limit as the order type
Enter the limit price (the price at which you want to buy or sell)
Set the quantity
Click Buy or Sell
The order rests in the market until the limit price is reached, or until you cancel it

When to use: When you want to enter at a specific price level and are willing to wait for the market to reach that price.

Stop Orders

A stop order triggers when the market reaches a specified price, then executes as a market order.

How to place a Stop Order:

Select the instrument
Choose Stop as the order type
Enter the stop (trigger) price
Set the quantity
Click Buy or Sell
The order remains dormant until the stop price is touched, then it triggers as a market order

When to use: Commonly used as stop-loss orders to limit downside, or as entry orders to buy above or sell below the current price.

Stop-Limit Orders

A stop-limit order combines a stop trigger with a limit price. When the stop price is reached, the order becomes a limit order (not a market order).

How to place a Stop-Limit Order:

Select the instrument
Choose Stop-Limit as the order type
Enter the stop (trigger) price
Enter the limit price (the worst price you will accept after the stop triggers)
Set the quantity
Click Buy or Sell

When to use: When you want the protection of a stop order but also want to control the maximum slippage on execution.

OCO Orders (One Cancels the Other)

An OCO order links two orders together. When one side fills, the other is automatically canceled. This is commonly used to set a take-profit and a stop-loss simultaneously.

How to set up OCO in Black Arrow:

Access OCO settings through the Trading menu or the order panel
Gain Target -- Set your take-profit level in ticks, dollar amount, or percentage
Loss Limit -- Set your stop-loss level in ticks, dollar amount, or percentage
When you enter a position, both the take-profit and stop-loss orders are placed automatically
When one side fills, the other side is automatically canceled

Configuration example:

Gain Target: 20 ticks
Loss Limit: 10 ticks
When you buy 1 ES contract at 5000.00, a take-profit sell limit is placed at 5005.00 and a stop-loss sell stop is placed at 4997.50

Bracket Orders

Bracket orders are essentially OCO orders attached to an entry order. When your entry fills, the bracket (take-profit and stop-loss) is automatically placed around your entry price.

How to use Bracket Orders:

Enable bracket/OCO in the Trading settings
Configure your default gain and loss targets
Place your entry order (market or limit)
When the entry fills, the bracket orders are placed automatically
Modify bracket levels by dragging them on the chart (if ChartTrading is enabled) or editing in the order panel

Trailing Stop

A Trailing Stop is a dynamic stop-loss that follows the price as it moves in your favor, locking in gains while limiting downside.

How to configure Trailing Stop in Black Arrow:

First set up an OCO order (the Trailing Stop modifies the stop-loss side)
Access Trailing Stop settings through the Trading menu
Gain Trigger -- Set the profit level (in ticks) at which the trailing stop activates
Last Price Difference -- Set the distance (in ticks) that the stop maintains from the current price as it trails
Save your configuration

How it works:

Once your position is in profit by the Gain Trigger amount, the stop begins trailing
As price moves further in your favor, the stop moves with it at the specified distance
If price reverses and hits the trailing stop, the position closes
The stop never moves backward (against your position)

Auto Breakeven

Auto Breakeven automatically moves your stop-loss to your entry price (or a specified offset from entry) once a certain profit level is reached.

How to configure Auto Breakeven:

Access Auto Breakeven through the Trading menu
Gain Trigger -- Set the profit level (in ticks) at which the breakeven stop is placed
Start Price Difference -- Set the offset from your entry price (0 = exact breakeven, positive values = slightly above entry for a buffer)
Save your configuration

How it works:

You enter a position
Once your unrealized profit reaches the Gain Trigger, the stop-loss is automatically moved to your entry price (or your specified offset)
This eliminates the risk of turning a winning trade into a losing trade

Order Modification

To modify an existing open order:

Locate the order in the Orders panel at the bottom of the platform
Right-click the order to access modification options
Change the price, quantity, or order type as needed
Confirm the modification
Alternatively, if ChartTrading is enabled, drag the order line on the chart to a new price level

Order Cancellation

To cancel an open order:

Locate the order in the Orders panel
Right-click and select Cancel Order, or click the cancel (X) button next to the order
To cancel all open orders at once, use the Cancel All Orders button (if available in your order panel configuration)
Verify in the Orders panel that the order status shows as "Canceled"

DOM (Depth of Market) / SuperDOM

The SuperDOM in Black Arrow provides a real-time view of market depth, showing the order book for a given instrument.

What is DOM?

The Depth of Market (DOM), also called the order book or Level II data, shows the pending buy and sell orders at each price level. This allows you to see:

Where liquidity is concentrated
How many contracts are resting at each price level
The imbalance between buyers and sellers
How the order book changes in real time

How to Open the SuperDOM

Go to Insert > SuperDOM from the main menu, or
Right-click on a chart and select Open SuperDOM for that instrument, or
Use the keyboard shortcut (if configured)

Reading the DOM Ladder

The SuperDOM displays a vertical price ladder with:

Price Column -- The center column showing each price level
Bid Column (left side) -- The number of contracts resting as buy orders at each price level
Ask Column (right side) -- The number of contracts resting as sell orders at each price level
Last Traded Price -- Highlighted row showing the most recent trade price
Volume at Price -- Visual bars showing the total volume traded at each price level during the session
Aggression Columns -- Buy aggression (typically blue) shows aggressive buyers lifting the ask; sell aggression (typically red) shows aggressive sellers hitting the bid
Market Interest Points -- Key levels such as VWAP, session open, settlement price, daily high/low

Placing Orders from the SuperDOM

Buy Limit -- Click on the bid column at the desired price level
Sell Limit -- Click on the ask column at the desired price level
Buy Stop -- Click on the ask column above the current price
Sell Stop -- Click on the bid column below the current price
Market Order -- Use the buy/sell market buttons at the top or bottom of the DOM
Modify Orders -- Drag existing orders to new price levels directly on the DOM ladder
Cancel Orders -- Right-click on an order or click the cancel button next to it

SuperDOM Settings and Customization

Depth of Levels -- Configure how many price levels are displayed above and below the current price

Positions Panel

The Positions panel displays all your currently open positions.

Open Positions View

For each open position, you can see:

Instrument -- The contract symbol (e.g., ESH6, NQH6)
Direction -- Long or Short
Quantity -- Number of contracts
Entry Price -- The average entry price
Current Price -- The current market price
Unrealized P&L -- The current profit or loss on the position (before closing)
Realized P&L -- Profit or loss from already closed portions of the position

P&L Tracking

P&L updates in real time as the market moves
P&L is displayed in both dollar amount and ticks
Commissions are factored into the P&L calculation
Your account balance and equity update in real time in the account information area

Closing Positions

To close a position:

Right-click on the position in the Positions panel
Select Close Position to close the entire position at market
Or select Close Partial to close a specified number of contracts
Confirm the close action

Flatten All

The Flatten All function closes all open positions and cancels all pending orders across all instruments simultaneously.

Use this as an emergency measure or when you need to exit the market quickly
Located in the order panel or accessible via a keyboard shortcut (if configured)
After flattening, verify in the Positions and Orders panels that everything is closed/canceled

Important: All positions must be closed by 4:59 PM ET each trading day. Do not wait until the last moment. Give yourself a buffer to avoid auto-liquidation issues.

Market Watch

The Market Watch (also called the watchlist or market monitor) displays real-time prices and data for the instruments you are tracking.

Adding Instruments

Open the Market Watch panel from the View or Insert menu
Click the "+" or "Add Symbol" button
Type the instrument symbol (e.g., ES, NQ, CL, GC) or search by name
Select the correct contract month and year
The instrument is added to your watchlist with live data

Watchlist Management

Reorder instruments by dragging rows up or down
Remove instruments by right-clicking and selecting "Remove"
Create multiple watchlists for different trading strategies or asset classes
Customize displayed columns -- Choose which data to show (last price, change, volume, bid, ask, high, low, open, etc.)

Price Alerts

Set price alerts to be notified when an instrument reaches a specific price level:

Right-click on the instrument in the Market Watch (or on the chart)
Select Set Alert or Price Alert
Enter the trigger price and condition (above, below, crosses)
Choose notification type (sound, popup, or both)
The alert triggers when the condition is met, even if you are viewing a different chart

Account Switching

If you hold multiple Rev One Futures accounts (for example, a Challenge account and a Simulated Funded account, or multiple accounts of different sizes), you can switch between them within Black Arrow.

How to Switch Accounts

Locate the account selector in the top navigation area of the platform
Click the dropdown to see all accounts associated with your login
Select the account you wish to trade on
The platform updates to reflect the selected account's balance, equity, positions, and orders
Verify that the account number displayed matches the account you intend to trade

Important considerations:

Each account has its own independent positions, orders, and balance
Switching accounts does not close positions on the previous account
Always confirm you are trading on the correct account before placing any orders
Your chart layouts and templates are shared across accounts, but trade data is account-specific

Trade History and Journal

Viewing Past Trades

The trade history section in Black Arrow shows all completed trades for the selected account:

Navigate to the Trades tab in the bottom trade terminal
You will see a list of all round-trip trades with:
- Instrument
- Direction (buy/sell)
- Entry price and time
- Exit price and time
- Quantity
- P&L (net of commissions)
- Duration

Time and Sales

The Time and Sales window (also known as the tape) shows every individual trade as it occurs in real time.

Reading the Tape

Each entry in Time and Sales shows:

Time -- The exact timestamp of the trade
Price -- The price at which the trade executed
Quantity -- The number of contracts in the trade
Direction -- Whether the trade hit the bid (seller-initiated) or lifted the ask (buyer-initiated), often color-coded (red for bid, green/blue for ask)

Filtering Time and Sales

Common Issues and Solutions

Cannot see market data / Charts are blank:

Ensure you have signed the CME Market Data Agreement (appears on first login)
Log out and log back in
Check your internet connection
Verify your account credentials are correct and your account is active in the Rev One Futures dashboard
Try the web version if the desktop application is not loading data

Connection issues / "Disconnected" message:

Use a wired (Ethernet) connection whenever possible -- wireless connections may cause instability
Ensure your internet speed meets the minimum requirement (15 Mbps)
Check if a firewall, antivirus, or VPN is blocking the connection
Restart the platform
Try the web version as an alternative

Orders not executing / Order rejected:

Verify you are within trading hours (futures markets close at 5:00 PM ET for daily maintenance)
Check that you have not exceeded your contract size limit for your account
Ensure you do not have conflicting pending orders that would exceed contract limits if filled simultaneously
Verify your account is not breached or suspended
Check the Messages tab for specific rejection reason codes
Ensure the CME agreement has been signed

Platform running slowly / Lag:

Close unused chart windows and indicators
Reduce the number of indicators per chart
Ensure your system meets the recommended specifications (12+ GB RAM, i5/i7 processor or equivalent)
Restart the platform
Update to the latest version of Black Arrow
Close other resource-intensive applications running on your computer

Windows 11 display issues:

If using Intel Integrated Graphics, ensure your GPU driver version is 30.0.100.9955 or later
Update your graphics driver from the manufacturer's website

Login issues:

Verify you are using your Black Arrow credentials (not your Rev One Futures dashboard credentials)
Check for typos in username and password
Reset your password from the Rev One Futures dashboard if needed
Ensure your account is active and has not expired
Try the web version to rule out desktop application issues

Restoring default settings:

Black Arrow includes an option to restore original/default settings
This can resolve issues caused by corrupted configurations or accidental setting changes
Navigate to settings and look for "Restore Defaults" or "Reset to Default"

SSD storage for faster application loading

Internet Requirements:

Wired Ethernet connection strongly recommended over Wi-Fi
Minimum 15 Mbps download speed; 50 Mbps or higher recommended
Low latency connection (under 50ms to exchange servers is ideal)
Avoid shared connections with high bandwidth usage (streaming, downloads)

Important: While the Strategy Editor is available as a platform feature, automated trading through the Strategy Editor is not permitted on Rev One Futures accounts. The Strategy Editor may be used for backtesting and analysis purposes only. All trades on Rev One Futures accounts must be manually executed.

Market Replay

Market Replay allows you to relive previous trading sessions as if they were happening in real time:

Open Market Replay from the Tools menu
Select an asset and date
Click Request to load the historical data
Use playback speed controls (1x up to 10x speed)
Pause, resume, or advance trade by trade

Market Replay is useful for:

Testing new strategies without risk
Reviewing past setups and market behavior
Sharpening your technical analysis skills
Practicing trade execution and timing
Training on historical volatility events

Note: Market Replay uses historical traded prices and does not factor in order book liquidity conditions present during the original session.
